Sprinklers

Fast, effective fire protection on tap

You may not be aware, but if your business premises stand more than 11 metres tall and were built in 2007 or later, a fire protection sprinkler system is a legal requirement. And if installed in your commercial building, they  play an integral role in your wider fire protection strategy.

Fire safety regulations can be complex, but we’re here to keep things simple. As fire protection experts, the Commercial Fire Protection team will help you identify what your ideal system of sprinklers should look like, and connect you to all the equipment and expertise you need to deploy it.

Read on to learn how we can help.

Sprinklers: how can we help?

Every business is different, so to work out your ideal deployment of sprinklers, we recommend starting off with a full Fire Risk Assessment of your premises. We’re fully accredited members of the Institute of Fire Managers and the Institute of Fire Engineers, so you can trust us to identify risk areas that sprinklers can mitigate for you.

After this, we work closely with our partners and suppliers to put your system of sprinklers in place, designed, installed and maintained by fully qualified engineers in accordance with the latest UK regulations. Depending on your requirements, we can provide:

  • Wet-pipe: pressurised water sprinklers that can be immediately discharged to quell a fire
  • Dry-pipe: air-filled pipes that only fill with water when the alarm is raised in order to prevent leakage, but that can still address a fire within one minute
  • Pre-action: a system with valves that ensure sprinklers only open in areas where action is needed, also helping to prevent accidental discharge
  • Foam water: foam-based mix for sprinklers that is recommended for putting out solvent fires caused by substances like gas and alcohol

Keep your sprinklers fully operational, all the time

Maintaining your sprinklers and associated infrastructure is essential, not only for safety but also for compliance. By law, sprinkler systems should be inspected and serviced annually by an independent third party: you should not inspect them yourself, and neither should building occupants, maintenance providers, insurers or system installers.

We can provide these inspection or maintenance services on a regular schedule, thanks to our years of experience and industry accreditations. That way, you can be sure that your sprinklers are always in perfect working order.
