Fire compartmentation

Keeping fire contained and your employees safe

Fire compartmentation is a form of passive fire protection where your building is divided into fire-resistant compartments. This helps to contain a fire at source by delaying the spread of smoke, flames and toxic fumes long enough for your people to escape, and emergency services to respond.

Your commercial building’s fire compartmentation plays a key role in fire safety compliance. We are proudly BM-Trada Q-Mark certified for fire-stopping protection, and as your trusted passive fire protection partners, we’ll help ensure your commercial building meets legal requirements and keep your people safe from harm.

Fire compartmentation begins with your Fire Risk Assessment

Before your fire compartmentation is installed, we’ll carry out a professional survey to highlight any breaches in your fire safety compliance. Where required, we can also carry out or update your Fire Risk Assessment, and ensure your Fire Safety Evacuation Procedure (FEEP) is fully compliant.

Your FEEP  will reveal where escape routes should be protected. This will help us take the right action on your fire compartmentation.

It goes without saying that your Fire Risk Assessment and FEEP should be carried out by experienced fire safety professionals. As fully-certified members of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, our risk assessors can support you at every stage of this journey.
